ABOUT
M. VICTORIA CADORÍN
It is with great love and care that I practice Craniosacral Therapy. For in these areas we find less intellectual understanding of the treatment and we release into the mysterious, deepest healing process. I am a practitioner who believes that the greater the pain you had to endure, the wiser and more alive you can become. Your struggle is growth and opportunity.
I initially trained in osteopathy in Buenos Aires (Argentina) at the Centro de Estudios Osteopáticos de Buenos Aires; and upon graduation I moved to Canada to study biodynamic craniosacral therapy in BC, through Body Intelligence. Altogether, I have been practicing cranial work for over 10 years, and have recently begun offering CST workshops in the Cowichan Valley.
It's important to mention that this kind of therapy does not look to fix or impose changes on your body. Cranial work sees and treats the person in a holistic light: honouring the body, mind, heart and spirit. A skilled craniosacral practitioner can perceive the imprints of trauma and can support the client in navigating the physical and emotional discomfort that challenging past events bring into their lives.
Whether it's physical forces or emotional stress that have been "stuck" in the body, overtime these unresolved events can develop symptoms of pain, tension, inflammation. In this work, the therapist facilitates a safe space where the client can potentially release this "tissue memory". This tissue memory is the force that holds the patterns of tension in place.
The approach is extremely gentle and the contact is precise. The releases can create a deep sense of peace and relaxation, and at times, be quite cathartic. Whichever way they are experienced, they bring forth relief.
Due to its non-invasive nature, CST can also be of great support for babies and children, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and elders.
Common reasons for treatment that present in my practice are related to cranial and dental trauma and dysfunctions (concussions, head and brain injuries, dental interventions, oral surgeries, migraines, TMJ issues, teeth grinding and more), as well as accidents, musculoskeletal tension and pain, digestive/urinary dysfunctions, sleep disorders, stress, anxiety and depression.
It is typically recommended to receive 3 initial treatments, which can be spaced out a couple/a few weeks apart, depending on the client’s needs. This will allow us to delve much deeper into any patterns of restriction. (Acute cases may present differently, and may require more ongoing attention.)
